R&D SCIENTIST

We are looking for an R&D Scientist in Aachen with a strong biochemical background, especially related to fruits-and vegetables, who will be able to drive research and business relevant innovation in the field of Coloring Foods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grow GNTs know how about pigment characteristics, properties and mechanisms of interactions and contribute to further develop the science of fruit and vegetable pigments to enable development of highly functional products from recognizable ingredients.
  • Translate science and technology into concepts, prototype samples and -processes.
  • Contribute to public recognition by publications, conference talks and collaboration with public research institutions.
  • Support continuous product improvement and development of new innovative products designed to meet the challenges of the Food and Beverage industry.

Technical functions:

  • Develop and apply qualitative and quantitative biochemical/biophysical analytical methods
  • Design and conduct experiments
  • Understand and address fundamental principles and translate them in new product concepts
  • Process and analyze data and results
  • Assisting with the transfer of new products from development into production, connecting with production, quality and other research departments.

Additional responsibilities:

  • Working collaboratively in cross-functional teams
  • Manage and support internal (research) projects
  • Share know how with colleagues and customers in the form of presentations, trainings and workshops
  • Presentation of results- both written and oral reports- detailing findings, propose next actions and giving feedback.

Experience & Qualification

  • You are a proactive and hands-on experimentalist with aptitude for problem solving and explaining complex processes.
  • You have an academic degree, preferably PhD, in biochemistry, food science or a related area
  • You have at least 3 years of experience in working in a scientific and R&D oriented environment
  • It is your ability to work self-dependent as well as in a team
  • You speak German and English
