Responsibilities
Position Location: Winston-Salem, NC
Business Unit: North America Sweetener & Industrial Solutions
Primary Function
Responsible for continuous improvement in the environmental, health, and safety culture at the Winston site. This will be done by improving the levels of safety awareness, regulatory compliance and security through the leadership of strong involvement, heighten awareness, accountability and best practices.
Supervision: Environmental Lead
Key Deliverables
B usiness
- Lead the site EHS process.
- Managethe security of the site in respect to employee safety and in compliance with the Food Safety Act.
- Ensure Regulatory and Ingredion compliance with all applicable standards, procedures and best working practices including OSHA, NFPA, EPA, North Carolina DNR and Site Security.
- Understand the working of North Carolina Workers Compensation laws.
- Leadership in Incident and Injury investigations.
- Manage site environmental compliance with Title V,City of Winston-Salemand NPDES permits.
- Provide guidance to safety specialist activities , such as First Aid Responder training and site safety team leadership.
- Support and drive Customer Experience through activities including interdepartmental safety walks.

- Develop and implement site safety improvement plans to ensure progress towards continuous improvement and overall company goals.
- Motivate site teams to engage in proactive EHS and sustainability activities to drive program and performance improvements.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity.

- Ability to build trust and confidence on all levels within the Ingredion organization and local site.
- Ability to effect change through persuasion and good communication.
- Work with all employees to ensure engagement in the EHS realm.

Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:
- BS or MS degree in an industrial health or science related field preferred or the equivalent EHS experience with a minimum high school diploma.
- Greater than 5 years’ experience in safety, health, and environmental management in a manufacturing environment.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation preferred
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Medical, Fire Prevention, Security Defense knowledge.
- Good investigation techniques to find root cause and proper corrective actions
- Good speaking and presentation skills.
