Senior Flavourist – Your future position?
As a Senior Flavourist at Givaudan, you will be responsible for creation of our new flavours including matching work, customer support for major presentations, troubleshooting in the Givaudan factory and customer plants and commercialising new technologies and creation techniques to further the Oceania business. You act as a subject matter expert and technical guide to help support all functions in the Oceania business achieve their goals. You will report to the Technical Manager, Oceania.

In addition, in this role you will mentor and guide the wider Creations team of flavourists, junior flavourists and seasoning creators on flavour creation, delivery systems, product matrix interactions, Givaudan technology and functionality of flavours to support reactive projects and key business initiatives.

In this role you will also support the investigation process and work closely with the Operations and Technical teams to ensure successful business outcomes and drive a stronger 'one team' focus to Issue Management in Oceania.

In this role you will

  • Demonstrate expert level tasting skills with a mastery level ability to understand how to adjust a flavour formulation in the direction needed for flavour modifications
  • Be on a mastery level knowledge of raw materials and flavour ingredients with an expert level ability to formulate many flavour types to deliver flavour performance for customer briefs, problem solving processes, research and development needs
  • Have an understanding of common Givaudan flavour creation solvent and carrier systems
  • Have the ability to interface with customers and effectively discuss the flavour creation needs for most flavour types and provide direction to help solve flavour performance issues in their applications
  • Have an advanced knowledge of local and regional regulatory requirements for flavours
  • Prepare and present complex flavour creation related technical presentations with some intermediate level elements of other functions such as applications, flavour creation, sensory, consumer understanding, analytical science, marketing
  • Be formulating suitable delivery systems for various application bases
  • High level knowledge of analytical methodologies (G.C. HPLC, Mass Spec.)
  • Good understanding of the technology used for improved performance, specific technical aspects affecting flavour stability in base, etc. for a multiple flavour types
  • Ability to supervise and manage flavour assistants routinely provide guidance for their knowledge development

You?

  • University degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Sciences, Industrial Chemistry or Engineering preferred (at least 4 year program)
  • Related experience of minimum 8 years of which at least 5 years in equivalent position
  • Excellent technical understanding of all flavour process technologies, computer systems, organization, presentation, oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Excellent project management and coaching skills with ability to lead cross site or cross functional projects
