About The Role
We have an immediate opening in our Taste department for a Sweet Flavourist. Kerry Taste and Nutrition is a global division of Kerry Group and a world leader in food ingredients & flavours serving the food and nutrition industry. We produce thousands of products, for the world's major food processors and food service companies, from more than 147 manufacturing sites across five continents.

Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and execute development and creation projects for external and internal customers
  • Create successful and winning flavours and flavour solutions to meet customer’s needs and win commercial opportunities
  • Technical support of FC&A, Sales and Customers across ANZ

Core Responsibilities
  • Create new and novel flavours (Nature Identical and/or Natural) of high commercial potential according to customer needs and strategic goals
  • Prepare development flavour samples as requested for customer briefs, applications needs, technology performance assessment, QC standards, physical testing, etc.
  • Evaluate and promote new raw materials and technologies
  • Interpret and use analytical results, including olfactory analysis, for the creation of flavours
  • Formulate new flavour creations or modify existing flavours to meet customer requirements, internal testing needs, or new technology development for selected flavour types
  • Participate in the evaluation of materials developed internally or from external sources and assess potential for flavour creation
  • Participate and learn about all areas of the company directly related to executing customer briefs (analytical chemistry, sensory, consumer understanding, regulatory, flavour delivery, manufacturing, etc.)
  • Serve as technical expert and advisor to marketing, sales, and customers for ingredient and flavour performance for selected flavour types
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers; able to gain their trust and respect
  • Execute daily brief related tasks and fully manage assigned projects and provide flavours which meet all defined customer needs and which meet good manufacturing practices, sample scale-up, production requirements, regulatory compliance, etc. as well as leading customer visits for flavour creation and product presentations at the customer when required
  • Serve as technical expert to resolve flavour production issues and customer complaints and complete ownership of created flavours
  • Coach, train, motivate, and mentor flavour lab assistants

Qualifications And Skills
  • University , Polytechnic or Bachelor Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or related field desirable
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years’ experienced in sweet flavour creation and savoury would be an advantage, with minimum multiple wins under them.
  • Demonstrates expert level tasting skills with a basic level ability to understand how to adjust a flavor formulation in the direction needed for flavor modifications appropriate to relevant applications.
  • Knowledge of raw materials and flavor ingredients with a basic ability to formulate flavor types to deliver flavor performance for customer briefs, problem solving processes, research and development needs, etc.
  • Ability to interface with customers and effectively discuss the flavour creation needs for selected flavor types
