Overview
As the Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) Product Manager is accountable to assure safe, consistent, remarkable products that meet consumer, customer and regulatory expectations aligned to General Mills requirements end-to end under the product category of your responsibility.
This leadership role is part of the FSQ team, a member of the Innovation, Technology and Quality (ITQ) organization, with the main role of defining the vision and strategy for quality, product safety and compliance with regulatory expectations with an for the product category under your responsibility
This function is a key member of the corporate leadership team of FSQ in Brazil, its participation in the business teams of the categories is also essential, being a position strongly linked to the business strategy, where it is expected a strong influence in the entire value chain that includes Supply chain, Marketing, Salles, Sourcing, Legal being an ambassador who advocates on behalf of consumers and customers.
Partnered leadership across the Brazil FSQ organization is expected to ensure the staffing, development, and performance management of the team members.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and lead Food safety, Quality and Regulatory strategies related to the local product category.
- Actuate as partner to support the business goals and objectives advocating for our consumers and customers.
- Working in partnership to drive improvement by challenging the status quo, benchmarking externally and internally, and leveraging your skills, your people, our in-house experts, tools and best practices.
- Champion consumer first product design and quality “as designed” and “as consumed” from concept through commercialization.
- Actuate close to FSQ Site Leaders and ESC FSQ team to support “as manufacturing” assuring that plants are capable of consistently delivering products within specification by championing the Turnover Process as projects transition to the core business product managers.
- Develop and implement Ways of Working models that keep the product category fast, agile and focused on category business need.
- Provide cross functional organizational leadership in a rapidly evolving environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemical, Food Science, Biology, Pharmaceutical or a related field.
- Experience based in: quality, food safety, policies/standards, product development and regulatory requirements, important solidi experience on food industry.
- Statistical process knowledge and applications to make data-based decisions.
- Strong Experience leading individuals and teams and a passion for developing talent and creating strong culture (across teams, locations).
- Fluency in English
