FOOD SAFETY AUDITOR 
As an Auditor, you will be responsible for the application of food safety and regulatory requirements and principles against established standards and protocols. The position requires strong communication. Applicants must have extensive knowledge of the food and feed producing industry. You will be initiating and conducting on-site audit activities at our clients. You will be responsible for the document review as well as preparing and distributing your audit findings in an audit report.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Conducting third-party food safety audits at food facilities within the supply chain
  • Assessing the conformity of operations against established international food safety standards and regulations by visiting clients on-site and examining records, reports, operating practices, and documentation
  • Communicating audit findings by discussing the findings with auditees and preparing a final report in accordance with management system auditing requirements as stipulated in ISO17021 or ISO17065
  • Aiding in handling of claims & appeals
  • Maintaining good relationship with the clients
  • Maintaining contacts with the certifier/s on regular basis
  • Keeping abreast of developments, issues and legislative changes related to the subject areas in which audits are carried out
  • Marketing and Business Development activities
This position, therefore, requires an individual with excellent communication skills who can initiate, conduct and review all relevant audit activities, whilst maintaining and developing client relationships. Being up to date with the latest local and national regulations in connection with your work is critical to the successful delivery of this position.

Requirements

  • Cumulatively, minimum 5 years of work experience in food industry related to Production/QA/ R&D
  • Sc. degree in food science, food technology or related field
  • Lead auditor qualification in ISO 9001/ ISO 22000/ FSSC 22000/ BRC will be an added advantage
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety standard systems and certification would be an advantage
  • Willingness to travel extensively (domestic and International)
  • Report-writing skills
  • Presentation and interviewing skills
  • Good command in English language (oral and written)
  • Computer literacy and workability with Windows and Microsoft Office packages
  • Ability to make independent decisions through systematic and analytical approach
  • Pleasant attitude towards the job
