About The Role
The Taste Manager must be a strong leader who can leverage appropriate resources, develop relationships and provide coordination of all Taste activities. With responsibility for delivering on the growth strategy plan and driving innovation in the assigned end use market.

The Taste Manager plays a key role in managing flavor sales growth, flavor creation, flavor production and flavor library by working efficiently to support customer briefs while maintaining a vision of what will work best for customers and Kerry.
The Taste Manager will have an extensive understanding of raw materials, finished products, production, regulatory, analytical and flavor application. The Taste Manager has significant experience in his/her area of expertise and continues to share knowledge in flavor development and relevant areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for Taste creation and application projects within ANZ, across all major End Use Markets, customers and channels. With a strong application emphasis on beverage, dairy and bakery.
  • Responsible for Taste development and application projects from initiation to launch. Interacts with process engineers, flavour experts, sales team, marketing and End Use Market team, suppliers, manufacturing, customers, packaging and marketing specialists to resolve problems.
  • Have a strong understanding of raw materials, solid formula design and process know how across flavor technology.
  • The Taste Manager will develop strong relationships with global customers and achieve a consistent win rate on key projects.
  • Work with cross functional team to optimize the strengths of Kerry and deliver the best Taste and Nutrition experience for our customers.
  • Utilize Kerry technology to deliver unique solutions to project brief.
  • Work closely with all EUM within Kerry.
  • Partner with Taste Collections team to strengthen the Kerry customer solutions portfolio.
  • Work with Business Development in rolling out Taste technologies.
  • Play leading role in technical presentations and working sessions with customers.
  • Mentoring and training the flavor creation team.
  • Work with analytical group on flavor matching projects; collaborate with analytical team to develop and utilize new methods of analysis.
  • Employ thorough knowledge of relevant regulatory and labeling requirements for flavors.
  • Participate in sensory panels .
  • Attend industry events and seminars to further flavor knowledge, network, and scout for talent.
  • Raw Material rationalization technical lead for Taste business.

Qualifications And Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Life Sciences, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or relevant industry experience.
  • At least 15-20 years of active flavor work on the bench and similar level of experience managing teams.
  • Builds high performing and effective teams.
  • Good background in organic chemistry, food chemistry, flavor applications.
  • Good math skills for problem-solving calculations.
  • Strong trouble-shooting skills
  • Strong and discerning sense of smell and taste
  • Broad flavor experience across end-use with specialization is desirable
  • Demonstrates strong ability for problem-solving and complaint resolution
  • Demonstrates strong ability to work with cross-functional teams at multi levels within the organization.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, communication, coaching and conflict management skills.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability to change.
